Monthly Kindnesses
Monthly Kindnesses a list of the kind ways people have
blessed me.
APRIL
- Nathan & Rebecca Dingle in Australia - I house sat for
Nathan and Rebecca for 10 days while they took their boys on an
Island cruse. So the privilege of looking after their home and
being able to use their internet connection is a blessing
enough. But this couple, who were complete strangers to me
before we meet the day of their leaving, seemed to be more
thankful to me for being their and they just showed me with
their generosity. computer bag, 32 GB flash stick, use of both
their cars and motorbike. Don't worry at putting petrol in (I
did however). Use of any food items in fridge and pantry. A
drive into town on my last day after giving me lunch - Just an
incredibly very generous couple.
- Rachel Dunn and partner Micheal Hole - I meet Rach while in
Thailand, while on a film shoot, she was also a documentary film
maker, Australian, and my age so we hit it off and collaborated
on our projects for the few days we were together. I meet up
with Rach in Sydney and we found we have more in common with in
our entrepreneurial lifestyle businesses and creative thinking,
and we, along with her partner who's currently quit his day job
to reach his dream in writing his first novel, hit it all
famously that they were both very gracious and offered me their
couch for a handful of nights in their very small one bedroom
studio apartment in Bondi Beach. They've blessed me with a
sounding board of brainstorming ideas and we've been in a little
bubble of web site working bees - each on their own. We've hung
out allowing our spontaneous side to come out and play which
really bonded us (Photos)
- Fountain in the City Church - for their AMAZING meals they put
on each week after their afternoon church service that is
different each week from all the incredibly beautiful ethnic
diversity within their congregation.
- TJ - a familiar face from home who's moved to Sydney, Nicky at
Fox Valley Rd Church, Sharon and Judith from Fountain in the
City and Rachel who put me up, for their, as my daughter calls
them D&M's - deep and meaningful - conversations. Sometimes,
I mean all the time! Getting below the surface and hearing about
the real life of another is so special that long after our time
spent together I'm still thinking of them. Each woman shared
their hearts and totally blessed me with seeing how God moved in
each of our lives.
- The elderly chap, and two sets of different people on bus who
struck up a conversation with Mike, Rach and I after we were
covered in coloured chalk die - made our 40min ride home
delightful and full of laughter with quirky convo. All complete
strangers.
- Brent from the photographers Meet Up in Darling Harbour - a
professional horticultural photographer working on well known
Australian TV shows was real fun to hang out with at the Holi
Indian Colour Festival. His generosity in conversation and
letting me hold the weight of his camera was awesome. It amazes
me how God blesses each of us with special skills and talents as
Brent told me that he remembers the name and intimate details of
every plant he reads about and finds them to take photos for
clients. He had a favourite plant that has the tallest flower in
the world, and he said though his learning about horticulture he
told me how plants grow and are connected in their root system
and if one is sick the others send it their sap to recover and
they grow in such a way they 'tell' each other to give each
space away from one another and where not to grow - case and
point when a truck passes under the branches of a low hanging
tree, the tree realises that those branches and leaves are
getting broken so it doesn't grow there any more - I did not
know this and I marvel at the way God works all things out and
then He teaches someone as it becomes a love, passion and career
in life. Amazing. I really enjoyed talking with Brent.
